Expect a ‘Summer of Spectacle’ at Longwood Gardens

May 22, 2017

Haven’t been to Longwood Gardens in a while? Here’s reason to visit: The Main Fountain Garden has returned! After being closed temporarily for renovations, the Main Fountain Garden is back and, according to some, better than ever. To commemorate the garden’s return, Longwood is promoting Summer of Spectacle, a summer-long celebration of water, light, and sound.

Admission to the Main Fountain Garden is included in the Longwood Gardens entry fee, so there’s no reason not to stop by. If you do, you’ll witness choreographed spouts of water set aglow in kaleidoscopic colors. Each 30-minute show is accompanied by music that ranges from pop to rock and everything in between. This month, for example, the fountains will dance to the beat of songs by The Beatles, Elton John, and American composer Aaron Copland.
