With a bar upstairs and a chic dining room downstairs, Philly’s Maison 208 offers something for both the after-work crowd and people looking for a sit-down dinner. But in the past two months, since it opened, customers have been abuzz about the bar (called The Social) thanks to its retractable roof. When the warm summer breezes waft across the rooftop, the roof pulls back so that you can soak up that sunshine.
Grab a drink with friends during Social Hour (5 to 7 p.m.), or snag a table downstairs and enjoy a full meal. Pair a main dish like the Agneau lamb loins, the Black Hog pork shank, or the coffee-rubbed duck breast with one of the inventive cocktails. The Black Rose features Iris Sweet Vermouth, blackberry liquor, and rosemary, while the Dirty Margarita showcases Blanco Tequila, citrus, agave, caper, and shiso.
